Foods Department Manager – Midrand

About the role

A leading South African retail company is looking for an experienced Foods Department Manager to lead its Midrand store. You will be responsible for driving sales, managing stock, and delivering excellent customer service while leading a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve departmental sales targets and budgets.
• Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
• Lead, coach, develop and motivate the Foods team.
• Recruit, select and manage staff to meet competency requirements.
• Oversee daily departmental processes and maintain operational standards.
• Manage stock levels, replenishment and product availability.
• Execute promotions, special events and new initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce shrinkage and improve profitability.
• Support overall store operations and goals.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Minimum 3 years management experience in FMCG retail, preferably in a Foods department.
• Strong understanding of stock management and retail operations.
• Valid driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and residence in Midrand.
