Food & Beverage Support Expert (Restaurant Runner)

About the role

The Food & Beverage Support Expert ensures smooth operations in the restaurant during the pre‑opening phase of The Cape Town EDITION Hotel. You will assist the kitchen, set up work areas, and provide a seamless guest experience by handling a variety of service tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Complete closing duties: store reusable goods, break down equipment, clean all areas, restock, lock refrigerators, turn off lights and secure the venue.
• Set up, stock, and maintain work stations throughout service periods.
• Inspect and ensure the cleanliness and presentation of china, glassware, and silverware before use.
• Follow all company, safety and security policies; report incidents and complete required safety training.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, answer telephone calls with professional etiquette, and maintain a clean, professional appearance.
• Collaborate with team members, support common goals, and respond to employee concerns.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, and move on uneven or slippery surfaces for extended periods.
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 25 lb unaided and up to 50 lb with assistance.
• Comfort with reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and stooping while performing duties.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards, and confidentiality of company information.
