Fleet Controller

About the role

The Fleet Controller will ensure that a fleet of road‑worthy vehicles is available to support the Service Centre. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work closely with drivers, suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Brief drivers according to company standards and debrief them after trips.
• Monitor vehicle costs and driver performance, ensuring compliance with budgets.
• Support effective self‑management and teamwork across the fleet department.
• Multi‑skill across functions as required, stepping in to assist other areas when needed.

Required profile

• Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the National Road Traffic Act.
• Understanding of vehicle licensing and general servicing/maintenance principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and demonstrate high integrity.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with emotional maturity and personal resilience.
• Attention to detail, sense of urgency and solid numeracy and literacy skills.

Required skills

• Experience with fleet management systems such as Fleet Vision.
• Familiarity with the ABSA fleet management system.
• Basic computer literacy.
