Financial Planning Analyst

About the role

Woolworths is looking for a Financial Planning Analyst to join its Fashion, Beauty & Home team at the Cape Town head office. The role supports the Central Financial Planning function by delivering analytics, forecasts and performance insights that drive strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Produce timely and accurate performance reports, monitoring group plans against merchandise financial and forecast targets.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly sales and margin forecasting models and provide quarterly forecasts to Finance.
• Assist with the budgeting process, including weekly phasing of sales and markdowns, and deliver detailed weekly budget reports.
• Update and publish KPI/incentive scorecards bi‑annually.
• Support Treasury by maintaining forex forecasts for hedging compliance.
• Analyse in‑season trade data, including sales, margins, markdown provisions and competitor activity, and deliver ad‑hoc reports with recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• Relevant 4‑year degree (Retail Business Management, BCom or CA).
• Minimum 5 years of retail finance or equivalent experience.
• Strong retail knowledge and forecasting experience.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and solid computer literacy.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and conceptual thinking abilities.
