Financial Manager

About the role

The Financial Manager will lead the financial accounting function for Satrix, a leading index‑tracking investment provider within the Sanlam Investments group. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, analysing results, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial management accounts and perform financial analysis of results.
• Develop, coordinate and report on annual budgets.
• Establish and execute accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate financial records, fund accounting and liaise with auditors.
• Manage accounts receivable, including product fee/rebate calculations and invoicing.
• Oversee accounts payable, approve creditor invoices and manage vendor relationships.
• Review and approve month‑end journal entries and general ledger balances.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure reasonableness of income and expenditure.
• Review, approve and file income tax returns and monthly VAT calculations.
• Resolve tax queries in collaboration with the Group tax team.
• Manage cash flow, inter‑company loan settlements and working‑capital optimisation.
• Monitor cash positioning and provide regular cash flow reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial accounting, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, VAT and income tax processes.
• Experience with cash‑flow management, inter‑company transactions and working‑capital oversight.
• Ability to develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
