Financial Controller

About the role

Sanlam Group Technology is seeking a Financial Controller to manage and verify financial data across its technology platforms. You will be responsible for accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions while supporting the group’s budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data for accounting purposes.
• Compile and sort invoices, checks, and other supporting documents.
• Post business transactions, reconcile bank statements, and monitor loans, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare vouchers, invoices, account statements, and financial reports, ensuring accuracy.
• Perform monthly variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end, half‑year and year‑end closings.
• Develop transparency of IT costs, build recovery models, and manage client relationships.
• Translate financial reports for non‑financial IT stakeholders and identify corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with SOPs, SLAs, and internal controls.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; Honours degree or CTACA (SA) is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in IT and/or financial services.
• Strong financial knowledge with client exposure.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Ability to manage conflict, work independently, and optimise processes.
