Financial Controller (Accounting & Operations)

About the role

The Financial Controller (Accounting & Operations) will lead the accounting function, ensure financial accuracy, and support data‑driven decision‑making. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role blends hands‑on accounting with strategic oversight to improve cash‑flow visibility and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and produce accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and accounts receivable, including collections and credit control.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies and process documentation.
• Provide financial analysis, reporting and insights to senior leadership.
• Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external accountants.
• Partner with leadership to analyze profitability, margins, inventory and operational performance.
• Drive improvements in accounting systems, reporting workflows, automation and efficiency.
• Lead and support the finance team, ensuring accountability and operational discipline.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full‑cycle accounting and month‑end close.
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Background in wholesale distribution, logistics, manufacturing or other inventory‑heavy industries.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with high attention to detail.
