Financial Accountant (Remote, Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join our fully remote, technology‑driven team. You will manage a portfolio of UK‑based clients, delivering accurate financial reporting, compliance, and proactive financial advice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software.
• Prepare year‑end accounts in accordance with UK accounting standards.
• Complete and submit VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and other statutory filings.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance‑sheet accounts, and financial transactions.
• Process payroll and ensure HMRC compliance where applicable.
• Assist clients with cash‑flow management, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Liaise with clients to resolve accounting queries and provide proactive advice.
• Identify opportunities to improve client processes through cloud technology and automation.
• Collaborate with internal team members to deliver outstanding client service.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an accounting practice or professional services environment.
• Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero or QuickBooks Online.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and client‑relationship skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
