Financial Accountant – Private School Group

About the role
The leading private school group is looking for a meticulous Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls and compliance across multiple educational institutions.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare month‑end reports and journal entries.
- Perform balance‑sheet and VAT reconciliations.
- Review financial statements and conduct variance analysis.
- Compile group reporting and consolidation packs.
- Support audit and tax reviews.
- Coordinate source‑to‑pay processes and maintain controls.
- Oversee payroll controls and standardise processes.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
Required profile
- B.Com or B.Com (Hons) degree.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and control environments.
- Minimum 3 years of corporate finance experience post‑articles (excluding audit, tax or advisory firms).
