Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client in Johannesburg Central is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The role involves preparing management accounts, supporting audits and contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes and support financial audits.
• Process payment batches and electronic payments, ensuring timely disbursements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating variances.
• Establish and enforce internal financial controls and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Oversee stock receipt recording, reconcile with purchase orders and perform supplier reconciliations.
• Implement appropriate inventory valuation methods such as FIFO or LIFO.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights to support realistic budgets.

Required profile

• BCom Honours minimum or CA(SA) qualification.
• 1‑3 years of commercial accounting experience.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or retail environments preferred.
