Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our hybrid finance team in Potchefstroom. The role offers the chance to work with international clients based in the Netherlands while remaining in South Africa, providing valuable global exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function for an international client portfolio.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end closing processes.
• Prepare annual financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with IFRS.
• Liaise directly with clients in the Netherlands and support audit processes.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and efficiencies.

Required profile

• Newly qualified CA(SA) or BCom degree with completed SAICA articles.
• At least 2 years of post‑articles experience in financial accounting.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client‑relationship skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a client‑focused environment.

Required skills

• IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
• Financial reporting and preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Month‑end close, reconciliations and journal entry processing.
• Audit support and query resolution.
