About the role
A stable, long‑standing organization is seeking a Financial Accountant to oversee the full accounting function and support the Finance Manager. This key role is ideal for a professional who thrives on independence, leadership, and accuracy in financial operations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and present financial reports.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Manage cash flow and banking relationships.
- Ensure tax compliance, including VAT reporting.
- Lead the accounting team and enforce internal controls.
- Partner with business units to provide financial insights.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (articles advantageous).
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong experience with management accounts, month‑end and year‑end close.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and ERP systems.
- Solid expertise in VAT and South African tax regulations.
- Proven ability to lead teams and work independently.
