Finance Manager: Insurance

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the accounting and financial operations of our insurance subsidiaries. The role will ensure reliable financial information, compliance with statutory regulations and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the management and financial accounting function for all insurance subsidiaries.
• Design, implement and maintain accounting systems, internal controls and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with PFMA, IFRS, SARS, National Treasury, FSCA and other relevant regulations.
• Prepare and deliver annual financial statements, quarterly and annual regulator returns, monthly management accounts and quarterly reports to National Treasury and FSCA.
• Compile reporting timetables, analyse variances and financial ratios, and present findings to the Executive Committee and Board.
• Oversee treasury activities including cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity management, banking relationships and electronic payments.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or finance professional with experience in insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of South African financial regulations (PFMA, IFRS, SARS, National Treasury, FSCA, VAT).
• Proven ability to manage complex reporting cycles and coordinate with regulators.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for reporting to senior management.
