Finance Manager – Forex

About the role

The client, a leading South African retail group, is seeking a Finance Manager – Forex to lead its foreign exchange portfolio. The role blends technical finance expertise with strategic decision‑making to protect profitability and support the buying teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage foreign currency exposure through forward cover buying and hedge accounting.
• Oversee forex reporting, reconciliations and month‑end financial processes.
• Forecast the impact of exchange‑rate movements and contribute to annual budgeting.
• Monitor market trends and economic developments to optimise forex strategies.
• Ensure compliance with forex policies, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and banking partners to deliver efficient forex solutions and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with at least 3 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in financial and management reporting, preferably within a retail or commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of foreign exchange, hedge accounting and financial reporting.
• Commercially astute, detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
