Finance Manager – FOREX

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Finance Manager to lead our foreign exchange (FOREX) function. The role combines hedge accounting, risk management, and financial reporting to support competitive pricing and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor foreign currency exposure and execute forward cover purchases to minimise exchange‑rate risk.
• Ensure timely settlement of Letters of Credit and foreign‑exchange contracts while maintaining compliance with the Group’s FOREX policy.
• Produce monthly and ad‑hoc reports on forward‑cover positions and perform accurate quarterly hedge accounting, including tax calculations.
• Forecast and budget the impact of currency movements on income statements and cash‑flow statements.
• Assess and implement process enhancements and optimal FOREX products, collaborating with supply‑chain and finance teams.
• Prepare financial reports, reconcile FOREX accounts, and support month‑end, year‑end, and audit activities.
• Conduct market research, monitor economic developments, and adjust the forward‑cover strategy accordingly.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification with at least three years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in financial and management reporting, preferably within a retail or commercial environment.
• Commercially astute, articulate, and capable of influencing both strategic and operational stakeholders.
