Accountant – Hatfield

About the role

Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Accountant to join their finance team in Hatfield. The successful candidate will handle daily accounting functions, manage debtors and creditors, support tax‑related duties and contribute to overall financial operations. This position is suitable for candidates with practical accounting experience or recent SAIPA qualification looking to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions accurately and timely.
• Manage full debtors and creditors functions.
• Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Support tax‑related functions, including VAT submissions and statutory compliance.
• Process journals and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial controls.
• Perform ad‑hoc financial and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum two years’ accounting experience or recently completed SAIPA articles.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
