Finance Controller – South Africa

About the role

The Finance Controller will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information for the South African operation. This role ensures robust margin analysis, budgeting, and compliance with group and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform margin analysis and produce monthly business margin reports, including inventory valuation and segmentation performance.
• Prepare monthly customer and site profitability reports and review price updates and discounts for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Maintain daily controls, weekly volume flash, and bi‑weekly flash reports.
• Ensure timely full P&L, line‑of‑business, and FX reporting for the country.
• Review fixed costs, explain exceptional items, and provide clear P&L explanations to the business.
• Develop a rolling three‑month cash‑flow forecast in coordination with Treasury.
• Prepare annual P&L budget, strategic plan, and capex budget, and monitor capex utilization.
• Conduct business case analysis (DCF, IRR, etc.) and ensure adherence to procurement procedures.
• Oversee tax compliance, liaise with the tax team, and submit regulatory reports on time.
• Support internal and statutory audits and enforce control frameworks.

Required profile

• Strong background in financial controlling, budgeting, and reporting.
• Experience with margin analysis, inventory valuation, and cost‑center reviews.
• Proficiency in cash‑flow forecasting and capex management.
• Knowledge of tax reporting and regulatory compliance in South Africa.
• Ability to produce clear, data‑driven recommendations for business efficiency.
