Finance Administrator (Advanced Excel)

About the role

An established business in Midrand is seeking a highly organised Finance Administrator with strong analytical abilities. The role blends finance administration, month‑end support, and advanced Excel reporting to deliver operational insights and improve financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage debtors and creditors, perform customer, supplier and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Process cashbook entries, allocate accounts and resolve queries.
• Support month‑end closing, maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational and financial reports using advanced Excel.
• Analyse large data sets to identify trends, variances and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain reporting templates, dashboards and ad‑hoc analysis.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to monitor KPIs and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce.
• 2‑5 years of experience in finance administration or accounting.
• Proven experience with debtors, creditors and reconciliations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently under deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, IF, SUMIF/SUMIFS, data validation, conditional formatting, advanced filtering, charts and dashboards).
• Power BI (advantageous).
• Exposure to ERP systems.
