Finance / Accounting Officer – Midrand

About the role

We are seeking a Finance / Accounting Officer to join our client’s team in Midrand, Gauteng. This permanent position involves managing both creditor and debtor functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting month‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Capture supplier invoices in Pastel Evolution and process payments.
• Handle creditor queries, follow escalation procedures, and reconcile creditor accounts monthly.
• Generate purchase orders, negotiate supplier rates, and maintain supplier documentation.
• Prepare debtor invoices, administer debit orders, and pursue timely collections.
• Perform sales commission calculations, petty cash reconciliation, and bank/credit‑card statement reconciliations.
• Maintain filing systems, archive documentation, and support general administration tasks.
• Update month‑end schedules, ensure expense allocation, and assist with management reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar finance/accounting role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of Pastel Evolution accounting software.
• Tertiary qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
