Field Service Technician (TC 88)

Key responsibilities

• Perform field service and maintenance on lithium batteries and locomotives.
• Commission lithium battery systems and locomotives to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct training and hand‑over sessions for clients and on‑site personnel.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and testing on equipment.
• Compile detailed reports on identified faults and maintenance performed.
• Conduct audits and inspections on locomotives and related systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients in the field.
• Travel internationally for field service, commissioning and training purposes.
• Work in the workshop when field service is not required.
• Maintain strong client relationships through professional interaction and service delivery.

Required profile

• Matric certificate.
• Electrical or millwright (red seal) qualification.
• Experience in field service, maintenance and commissioning of machinery, especially lithium batteries and locomotives.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Excellent verbal communication and conflict‑management skills.
• Strong problem‑solving capabilities.
