Family Medicine Faculty Member

About the role

The Family Medicine Faculty Member will join the Family Medicine Residency Program at Mission Community Hospital, supporting both clinical care and graduate medical education. Reporting to the Program Director, the faculty member will help shape curriculum, mentor residents, and ensure compliance with ACGME standards.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in curriculum development, delivery, and continuous improvement for the residency program.
• Provide direct supervision, teaching, and mentorship to residents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead didactic sessions, case discussions, workshops, and serve as a faculty advisor.
• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care in the teaching clinic and affiliated hospital.
• Supervise resident clinical encounters, model compassionate and culturally competent care.
• Engage in scholarly activities such as quality improvement, research, or educational projects.
• Contribute to program evaluation, accreditation activities, and resident recruitment processes.
• Uphold ACGME, institutional, and departmental policies, promoting a respectful and safe learning environment.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Board certified in Family Medicine by ABFM or AOBFP.
• Medical license or eligibility for licensure in California.
• Prior experience in graduate medical education preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical excellence, and professional development.
