Facilities & Services Manager

About the role

Lenmed is recruiting a Facilities & Services Manager for its Technical and Maintenance department at Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre in Durban. The role coordinates and manages internal support services and external service providers so that the hospital's objectives of quality, growth and people are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all engineering and soft services across the facility, including catering, cleaning, security, garden, hygiene, pest control, medical and general waste, laundry and coffee shops, with ad-hoc special projects
• Create and manage CAPEX and OPEX, and complete CAPEX contract scope changes for permanent changes in service scope
• Review SLAs, document hospital requirements with Group Procurement and ensure signatures, then drive and monitor conformance to SLAs and corrective actions
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and take part in internal and external review meetings
• Ensure external stakeholders meet agreed quality standards and comply with health and safety legislation, and identify alert and incident trends
• Contribute to compliance with Lenmed's ISO 9001:2008 quality audit standards (work in progress)
• Submit weekly project planner reports to MANCO and HM, take part in budgeting and monitor performance against budget
• Keep the hospital facility clean and in good order

Required profile

• Recognized 3-4 year degree or National Diploma at NQF level 6 (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing large teams
• 3 to 5 years' proven experience managing outsourced or insourced soft services, integrated facilities management and bundled soft services
• Knowledge of industrial relations
• Healthcare experience is advantageous; hospitality, retail, FMCG or related sectors also acceptable
