External Sales Representative

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and results‑driven External Sales Representative with experience in the corrugating and packaging industry. The successful candidate will generate new business, maintain existing customer relationships, achieve sales targets and promote our range of packaging products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, client visits, networking and referrals.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, providing tailored packaging solutions.
• Prepare and submit quotations, tenders and pricing proposals, and negotiate terms.
• Achieve monthly sales turnover and gross‑profit targets while monitoring market trends and competitor activity.
• Coordinate with production, artwork and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Collect payments within agreed credit terms and prepare weekly sales reports and forecasts.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of external sales experience in the corrugating and packaging industry.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets and opening new accounts.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer‑relationship management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using ERP or sales management systems.
