External Sales Executive – Industrial Manufacturing

About the role

An established industrial manufacturing company based in Bellville is looking for a motivated External Sales Executive to generate new business, grow existing accounts and build long‑term customer relationships within the Western Cape.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking and customer visits.
• Establish relationships with prospective customers and introduce the company’s services.
• Manage and expand existing customer accounts, providing consistent service and tailored solutions.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s technical processes, services and target markets.
• Assess customer needs, prepare and present quotations, and negotiate pricing within approved parameters.
• Close sales, meet agreed targets and provide professional after‑sales support.
• Collaborate with operational and internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Required profile

• Technical sales experience in an industrial or engineering environment, or a recognised engineering degree.
• Valid South African driver’s licence and an established network within the industrial, engineering or manufacturing market in the Western Cape.
• Strong ability to build and maintain long‑term customer relationships.
• Willingness to learn the company’s technical services and processes.
• Comfortable prospecting for new business and attending client meetings.

Required skills

• Technical sales expertise.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of the steel industry (beneficial).
