External Sales Executive – Industrial Engineering

About the role

The company is an established industrial services provider serving the steel, engineering and manufacturing sectors in the Cape Town area. They are looking for an External Sales Executive to generate new business, grow existing customer relationships and drive revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, cold‑calling and networking.
• Establish relationships with prospective customers and manage existing client accounts.
• Arrange and attend customer meetings and site visits, prepare and present quotations.
• Negotiate pricing, service terms and contracts, and close sales.
• Provide after‑sales support and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure effective service delivery.
• Monitor market activity, track leads and maintain accurate sales records.
• Prepare regular sales and performance reports for management.
• Meet agreed sales targets and represent the company at industry events.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of external sales experience in industrial, steel or manufacturing markets.
• Proven track record selling products, consumables or services to fabricators, steel merchants or engineering firms.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Established network within the Cape Town industrial/engineering market (beneficial).
• Energetic, accountable, target‑driven with high integrity and professionalism.
• Strong cultural fit and desire to become a long‑term team member.
