Export & Import Processing Officer - Vehicle CO₂ Refunds

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Export & Import Processing Officer to join a well‑established organisation in Durban. The role focuses on handling export documentation, customs paperwork and vehicle CO₂ refund applications while supporting broader import and operational functions.

Key responsibilities

• Process export documentation and Bills of Entry
• Manage and coordinate vehicle CO₂ refund applications and submissions
• Ensure supporting documentation is accurate and compliant
• Assist with import processing and customs clearance documentation
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding shipments and documentation
• Monitor outstanding documentation and follow up on submissions
• Ensure compliance with South African customs and import/export regulations
• Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
• Assist with general operational, compliance and administrative functions
• Resolve documentation discrepancies and processing queries efficiently

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Freight, Logistics, Supply Chain, Customs or Import/Export (advantageous)
• Customs‑related training or certification (beneficial)
• Strong computer literacy and administrative skills
• Proven experience in an Export/Import Processing role
• Practical experience processing Bills of Entry
• Sound knowledge of export procedures and customs documentation
• Knowledge of South African import/export and customs regulations
• Vehicle or automotive import/export experience (highly advantageous)
• Previous exposure to vehicle CO₂ refund processing (advantageous)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong compliance orientation
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage documentation accurately and meet deadlines
