Experienced ICU Registered Nurse

About the role

The Life Bay View Private Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with ICU experience to provide holistic, high‑quality care to critically ill patients. Reporting to the ICU Unit Manager, the role focuses on delivering optimal patient outcomes in line with hospital and corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver basic and specialised nursing care to ICU patients.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families regarding condition and care plans.
• Administer medication in accordance with ethical and legal frameworks.
• Follow internal policies, protocols and quality management systems.
• Advocate for patients, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and notify doctors of any concerns.
• Provide training, mentorship and ensure appropriate skill mix within the ICU team.
• Manage stock, staff hours and leave in line with company policies.
• Maintain infection control and SHEQ standards, reporting incidents as required.
• Ensure equipment and instrumentation are functional, report faults and educate staff on proper use.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with legal documentation requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant nursing degree or diploma.
• Proven experience working in an ICU setting.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Team‑player, energetic, well‑organized and adaptable to a changing environment.
