Executive Manager Regional Operations

About the role

The Executive Manager Regional Operations will lead the delivery of Productivity SA’s mandate within Region 1, overseeing enterprise development and support programmes that enhance competitiveness and sustainability of businesses. This senior position reports to senior leadership and is responsible for translating national strategies into actionable regional plans.

Key responsibilities

• Expand and improve accessibility of services across all provinces in the region.
• Generate and increase revenue by building strategic partnerships and making informed business decisions.
• Translate organisational and provincial growth strategies into regional operational plans for Enterprise Development and Support programmes.
• Monitor implementation of programmes, gather and analyse data, and evaluate impact.
• Lead financial planning, adjust operational budgets, and ensure financial sustainability.
• Oversee human resources functions including recruitment, performance management, training, and change management.
• Promote a productivity culture and accountability at provincial, sector and enterprise levels.
• Establish and manage stakeholder and strategic partnership relations, supporting collaborative enterprise forums.

Required profile

• Proven senior management experience, preferably within public sector or enterprise development.
• Strong understanding of the Employment Services Act and related regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and manage large‑scale programmes.
• Excellent financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial sustainability.
• Leadership skills in human resources management and change management.
• Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
