About the role

Our client, a fast‑paced event and activation agency in Johannesburg, is seeking a creative Event Designer to shape the visual identity of high‑profile brand experiences. You will translate brand narratives into immersive physical spaces that captivate audiences and reinforce corporate identity.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative team to develop original, high‑impact event concepts aligned with client objectives.
• Transform concepts into detailed design plans, including custom brand bars, photo moments, and bespoke furniture.
• Integrate branding guidelines to ensure cohesive representation throughout the event space.
• Produce sketches, mood boards, and 3D renderings to visualise design proposals.
• Coordinate with production, marketing and client services to guarantee seamless execution.
• Oversee on‑site implementation and final delivery, ensuring the design meets premium quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Design, Set Design, Interior Design or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in event or set design, preferably within experiential marketing.
• Strong portfolio showcasing innovative, brand‑centric projects.
• Bold, forward‑thinking design style with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and presentation.
