Estimator - Tender Department

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Tender Department in Durban. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions for construction and plant‑hire projects, helping the business win profitable contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender documents.
• Review tender drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Compile pricing schedules and cost breakdowns.
• Conduct site visits and assess project risks.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement teams and clients.
• Ensure timely submission of all tenders.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and support contract handovers.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of proven estimating experience in construction or plant‑hire.
• Relevant qualification such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering (advantageous).
• Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work under pressure.
