Enterprise Architect – Hybrid – Cape Town

About the role

Our client, a global investment advisory firm, is looking for an Enterprise Architect to shape and govern enterprise‑scale integration solutions. You will bridge strategic objectives with practical designs, ensuring resilient, secure, and compliant architectures across cloud and on‑premise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the architectural SME and coach for an embedded business domain, translating strategy into executable solution designs.
• Design resilient integration patterns, focusing on REST APIs, event‑driven architectures, and cloud middleware.
• Convert enterprise guardrails into practical delivery models that balance rapid execution with long‑term health.
• Partner with Finance, Technology, Security, and Data teams to turn functional requirements into clear technical designs.
• Shape data migration, security, and governance strategies to ensure auditability, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Support delivery teams through design, build, test, and deployment phases, resolving architectural risks and maintaining alignment.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) is beneficial.
• 7+ years of experience designing enterprise‑scale solutions in complex IT environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of modern enterprise integration patterns, REST APIs, event‑driven architecture, and middleware.
• Solid experience with cloud architectures, especially Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and ArchiMate.
• Understanding of security, risk, and compliance requirements in highly regulated financial or investment sectors.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, coach delivery teams, and navigate complex technical landscapes.
