Enrolled Nurse – Theatre (Temporary)

About the role

MHR is seeking an Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join a private theatre facility in Vamderbijlpark, Gauteng on a temporary basis. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the operating theatre in line with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) scope of practice.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and other team members to ensure smooth procedural flow.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to the Scientific Nursing Process.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with basic inventory control.
• Identify, prevent and report any medico‑legal risks or adverse events.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• 6 months to 1 year of experience working in an operating theatre environment.
• Sound knowledge of nursing activities and procedures as defined by the scope of practice.
• Ability to demonstrate and assess relevant clinical procedures.
• Immediate availability for placement.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Scientific Nursing Process.
• Basic understanding of stock control principles.
• Competence in performing theatre‑specific clinical procedures.
