About the role
The Pretoria Eye Institute is seeking an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary to work in the theatre, supporting anaesthetic and circulating functions. You will provide basic, personal patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver basic clinical care to patients in the operating theatre.
- Assist with anaesthetic preparation and monitoring.
- Manage circulating duties, including equipment handling and documentation.
- Apply effective financial, business, and people management processes as required.
- Build professional relationships with the surgical team and patients.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate as Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.
- Work experience in a hospital setting; private‑sector experience is an advantage.
- Experience in ophthalmic nursing is a plus.
