Enrolled Nurse – AICU (Acute Intensive Care Unit)

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect nursing care within the Acute Intensive Care Unit (AICU) at Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for delivering high‑quality patient care and supporting the nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Manage stock levels, ensure proper charging and storage of supplies.
• Adhere to waste‑management and safety protocols, reporting any hazards.
• Ensure equipment is correctly used, cleaned, stored, and report repairs.
• Uphold professional conduct, patient confidentiality, and hospital policies.
• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing programmes.
• Supervise and support Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENAs) as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse registered with the appropriate South African nursing authority.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and take responsibility for personal actions.
• Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and patient‑centred care.
• Willingness to adhere to hospital governance, quality, and risk‑management standards.
