Engineering Stores Clerk

About the role

The Engineering Stores Clerk will manage material planning and inventory control for I&J’s operations in Woodstock, Cape Town. You will ensure that spares and consumables are available to support production, maintenance shutdowns and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate SAP stock control, MRP processes and Material Master Data integrity.
• Ensure spares availability for operational continuity and shutdown readiness.
• Drive compliance with audit, document control and safety standards, including MSDS and hazardous substances.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cost control of materials and inventory.
• Manage supplier performance, stakeholder communication and optimal stock levels.
• Support risk management for critical equipment and monitor safety metrics.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Artisan.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar stores or logistics role.
• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Completed NQF3 qualification in Stores, Logistics or Warehousing (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP stock control.
• Understanding of MRP processes and material master data.
• Knowledge of MSDS handling and hazardous substance regulations.
