Engineering Painter

About the role

The Engineering Painter joins the hotel’s Engineering team to maintain and refresh all painted surfaces across public areas, guest rooms, back‑of‑house spaces, plant rooms and building exteriors. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will ensure that the hotel’s visual standards are upheld while supporting overall facility upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs, general maintenance and painting of all hotel areas, including guest rooms, corridors, plant rooms and exterior surfaces.
• Check delivery notes against purchase orders and verify invoice accuracy.
• Maintain accurate stock control of paints, sundries and related supplies; conduct month‑end stock takes.
• Control paint usage to minimise waste and ensure cost‑effective operations.
• Liaise with other departments to coordinate work schedules and respond promptly to technical queries.
• Adhere to the hotel’s scheduling and job‑card system, ensuring work is completed correctly the first time.
• Follow all hotel policies, health‑and‑safety procedures and attend required training.
• Participate in departmental meetings and cross‑training initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial or hospitality painting and maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to 5‑star quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with other teams.
• High work ethic and willingness to stay updated on the latest painting techniques.

Required skills

• Professional painting techniques for interior and exterior surfaces.
• Inventory management and stock‑control procedures for paint supplies.
• Knowledge of paint types, finishes and application tools.
• Basic understanding of building maintenance and facility operations.
