Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead the sales and business development function for engineering and industrial solutions. Reporting to senior leadership, the role focuses on expanding market presence, securing new contracts and nurturing key client relationships across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify new business opportunities, generate leads and convert them into sales.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts to secure profitable deals.
• Prepare, present and follow up on quotations and proposals.
• Conduct regular client site visits and business reviews.
• Collaborate with technical, logistics, marketing and sales teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Support the development of new engineering products and technologies.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.
• Resolve customer queries and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
• Prepare and submit sales, business development and market activity reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales or engineering management role.
• Strong understanding of sales processes and business development.
• Knowledge of import and export processes.
• Excellent negotiation, networking and communication abilities.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel extensively (50%+ of the time).
