About the role
Interpath is seeking an ambitious, commercially‑minded Employment Lawyer to join its Cape Town team at the Associate Director level. You will work in a fast‑paced, advisory‑led environment, providing legal expertise on complex workforce and organisational challenges across multiple jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on a broad range of UK and international contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
- Support strategic growth initiatives such as acquisitions, senior‑level hiring and new market entries.
- Identify and manage employment, regulatory and reputational risks, ensuring robust, best‑practice advice.
- Provide pragmatic guidance on employee relations issues including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, disputes and exits.
- Instruct and manage external legal counsel on all employment‑related matters.
Required profile
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 5+ years post‑qualification experience in employment and labour law.
- Experience in private practice, in‑house, or professional services/advisory environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, acquisitions, restructures and litigation.
- Proven ability to support workforce change projects, transactions or organisational transformation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
