Employee Benefits Broker Consultant

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a proactive, commercially driven Employee Benefits Broker Consultant for its Corporate division in Pinelands, Cape Town. You will be the main link between the company and its network of intermediary partners, bridging Old Mutual's corporate solutions and the broker market through relationship management and sustainable growth. Success is measured by increased market penetration, retention of existing business and meeting sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and help brokers grow their books of business with Old Mutual.
• Run regular business reviews to track broker performance against objectives and implement growth strategies.
• Act as the voice of the intermediary internally, facilitating communication between brokers and departments for seamless service delivery.
• Manage the sales pipeline and realise cross-selling and upselling opportunities in existing portfolios.
• Maintain accurate reporting data, comply with regulatory requirements such as FAIS and TCF, and uphold the company's brand values.

Required profile

• NQF Level 6 qualification; a relevant Bachelor's degree is preferred, and the CFP designation is a strong advantage.
• FAIS compliance; an RE5 qualification is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial services, ideally in intermediary sales, retirement funds or relationship management.
• Solid knowledge of employee benefits and group risk, comfort with complex regulatory environments, and the ability to influence and negotiate professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
• Analytical skills for business reporting and identifying market trends.
