Embroidery Supervisor - Durban

About the role

Our client, a leading South African manufacturer of branded apparel and promotional merchandise, is seeking an experienced Embroidery Supervisor to lead the embroidery department in Durban. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise with people‑management responsibilities to ensure high‑quality embroidered products are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the embroidery department, allocating work across machines and operators.
• Plan and monitor production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Track departmental productivity, implement corrective actions and balance workloads to maximise efficiency.
• Lead, coach and motivate embroidery operators, providing training to improve technical skills and productivity.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, machine performance and quality standards, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
• Coordinate with Production Management, Planning, Quality Assurance and Warehouse teams to resolve production challenges.
• Assist with staff scheduling, leave planning and onboarding of new employees.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising an embroidery production environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of embroidery machines and processes.
• Demonstrated people‑management and coaching abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting and drive continuous improvement.
