Electrical Technician – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Technician to join our Springs production site. Reporting directly to the Unit Manager, you will support the manufacturing line by ensuring all electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret wiring diagrams and electrical drawings in a plant environment.
• Perform methodical fault finding, detection and maintenance on motors, pumps, control panels and distribution boards.
• Maintain sensor control systems, VSDs, HMIs, switchgear, AC motors, relay logic, temperature controllers and other industrial instrumentation.
• Repair production machinery and carry out site‑related electrical work.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, OHS regulations and housekeeping standards.
• Participate in mini‑business operating activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric Trade Certificate – Electrician (N2 – N33‑5).
• Relevant experience in an FMCG electrical/automation environment, preferably with bottling machinery.
• Familiarity with Siemens S7 PLCs and high‑speed machinery.
• Self‑motivated, able to work with limited supervision and handle pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Fault finding and maintenance of electrical motors, pumps, control panels and distribution boards.
• Sensor control, VSD, HMI, switchgear, AC motors, relay logic, temperature controllers, industrial instrumentation.
• PLC programming/operation (Siemens S7).
• Experience with high‑speed and bottling machinery.
