Electrical Foreman – Durban

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled, hands‑on Electrical Foreman to take full accountability for the Durban electrical department. You will lead all electrical projects and oversee maintenance strategies to maximise plant productivity, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and mentorship to electricians, assistants, apprentices and external contractors.
• Plan, schedule and manage preventative maintenance programmes, with a strong focus on crane systems.
• Estimate time and material requirements for upcoming jobs, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and complex troubleshooting of electrical issues.
• Enforce strict compliance with OHSAS health & safety and quality control policies.

Required profile

• Certified Electrician (passed trade test) with a valid Wireman’s Licence.
• Minimum 12 years post‑apprenticeship experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory/foreman capacity.
• Proven medium‑voltage experience and valid MV certification.
• Strong background in maintenance within manufacturing, heavy engineering or ship‑repair environments.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and maintaining crane systems.
• Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering (N6/National Diploma/BTech) is highly preferred.
