Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cape Town and help turn customer requirements into sustainable energy solutions. You will work closely with commissioning and project management to design, document and test electrical systems for battery storage, emergency power and related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to translate customer wishes into detailed electrical designs.
• Create electrical drawings, schematics and functional manuals that meet project goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards such as NEN 3140 and IEC 62040.
• Develop PLC software and configure ComAp controllers, integrating Modbus TCP communication within the Energy Management System (EMS).
• Define testing requirements and conduct FAT and SAT procedures.
• Provide technical support for project updates, specifications and documentation.

Required profile

• Under 28 years of age and fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Experience designing electrical schematics for battery energy storage or emergency power systems.
• Understanding of generator control, automatic start/stop, synchronisation and load‑sharing.
• Experience with ComAp or Deep Sea Electronics controllers is essential.

• Salary €3,800 – €5,900 gross per month (based on experience)
