Divisional Head of Finance

About the role

This senior finance position sits at divisional leadership level, partnering directly with the Divisional Managing Director to shape strategy, profitability and operational performance across a diverse portfolio of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy for three division operations, ensuring commercial discipline and identifying profitability opportunities.
• Drive cash‑flow optimisation, strengthen governance and support sustainable growth.
• Influence executive decision‑making and challenge assumptions to improve business performance.
• Oversee transformation, automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide leadership to a large finance function, fostering clarity, accountability and purpose.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the group, including a dotted‑line relationship to the Group CFO.

Required profile

• 10+ years of senior finance experience, preferably in a divisional or multi‑business environment.
• Proven leadership in an executive finance role with a strong commercial mindset.
• Track record of improving profitability and driving business performance.
• Ability to solve complex business challenges and influence senior executives.
• Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, operationally intensive settings.
• CA(SA) qualification or completed CIMA qualification.

Required skills

• Strong commercial, strategic and operational finance capability.
• Experience leading large‑scale transformation or business‑improvement projects.
