Director of Sustainability

About the role

Satāya is seeking a Director of Sustainability to lead impact strategy for a multi‑country experiential travel group that blends luxury hospitality with conservation and community initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, you will shape a Group‑wide sustainability agenda and embed it across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously refine the Group’s impact strategy, aligning it with business objectives and conservation commitments.
• Design and maintain ESG frameworks, KPIs, and reporting structures, ensuring data quality and audit readiness.
• Oversee governance of impact‑related funding and produce executive‑level performance reports.
• Drive adoption of impact standards across regions, providing tools and guidance for on‑the‑ground execution.
• Support the executive team in positioning the business as a leader in purpose‑led travel.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in sustainability, ESG, conservation or impact leadership, preferably in a multi‑country business.
• Proven ability to set long‑term strategic direction and manage detailed operational delivery.
• Willingness to relocate and work on‑site in South Africa.
