Director of Health System Data Analysis & Research

About the role

The Director will lead the development and implementation of a health information framework, manage the health establishments register and database, and coordinate research activities to support health standards compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a health information framework for data collection, analysis and reporting on health norms and standards.
• Direct the development and management of the health establishments register and database.
• Manage coordination of health standards research and the OHSC Research Strategy.
• Oversee the early warning system, including collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of health establishment performance and risk data.
• Lead the production of reports on compliance, complaints and overall health system performance.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation unit.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 and a bachelor’s degree in health sciences (NQF Level 7).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a health environment, with at least 5 years in middle or senior management.
• At least 3 years of experience in data management, analysis and interpretation using analytical tools.
• Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, especially epidemiological studies.
• Proven people‑management track record and excellent verbal communication, analytical and report‑writing skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.

What we offer

• All‑inclusive remuneration package of R 1,317,384 per annum (basic salary 70 % of total, pension contribution and a flexible portion).
• Flexible portion of the salary can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.
