Diesel Technician – Commercial Truck Workshop

About the role

This permanent position is for an experienced Diesel Technician to join a high‑volume commercial truck workshop serving multiple brands in Richards Bay. The role involves diagnosing, servicing and repairing heavy vehicles for fleet operators, logistics companies and owner‑drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs on commercial trucks and heavy vehicles.
• Identify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing for fleet vehicles.
• Execute engine, drivetrain, braking, suspension and electrical repairs.
• Attend to roadside breakdowns and provide field service when required.
• Maintain workshop productivity and meet repair time standards.

Required profile

• Trade‑tested Diesel Mechanic/Technician certificate (essential).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial truck workshop or dealership environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities on heavy commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently in a busy workshop and perform overtime or standby duties.
• Local residency near the branch or willingness to relocate.
