Development Manager

Key responsibilities

• Source and identify potential property development opportunities aligned with the company’s strategy.
• Provide technical expertise for concept designs, evaluate options and develop proposals.
• Prepare design briefs and engage external consultants to ensure alignment with development agenda.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates, review quotations, identify risks and determine project budgets.
• Manage projects to meet deadlines and present designs, feasibilities and costings to the Investment Committee.
• Secure funding, provide technical insight to funding committees and banks, and track development progress.
• Source and appoint service providers, conduct meetings and site visits, negotiate design changes and obtain necessary approvals.
• Develop and monitor project plans, budgets, timelines, and oversee project administration and handover.

Required profile

• NQF Level 7 qualification in Building Sciences, Construction Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant project management qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of development project management experience.
• 3‑4 years experience on complex mixed‑use precinct construction, cost and programme management.
• 7+ years experience managing service‑provider relationships.
