Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

About the role

We are looking for a Development Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Johannesburg. The role focuses on supporting production, driving engineering projects, and improving processes within a plastics manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production teams.
• Support engineering projects and manufacturing processes.
• Industrialise and maintain product processes.
• Analyse data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure machine reliability and uptime.
• Train staff on best practices, tools, and processes.
• Assist with implementation of new systems and software.
• Manage inventory and resources.
• Maintain compliance with OHS, GMP and FSSC standards.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree or related qualification.
• At least 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience, preferably in plastics packaging.
• Processing experience with a mechatronics background.
• Knowledge and experience in coding and automation.
