Deputy Store Manager – Retail

About the role

The Deputy Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering sales and profitability goals for the adidas store in Centurion. This role focuses on staff training, compliance with adidas retail policies, and helping to build a strong succession pipeline within the store.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in creating and maintaining an efficient staff structure that balances payroll costs and productivity.
• Evaluate daily employee performance, identify talent, and coordinate training and development initiatives.
• Handle employee relations matters, ensuring timely resolution of concerns and adherence to company policies.
• Prepare and manage documentation related to recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and personnel files.
• Ensure compliance with adidas visual presentation standards, security procedures, and legal safety guidelines.
• Support merchandising, advertising, and promotional activities to meet sales targets.
• Resolve customer complaints and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Monitor inventory levels, communicate overages/shortages, and assist with stock management.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Strong written communication skills for routine reports and correspondence.
• Effective verbal communication when addressing customers or staff groups.
• Numeracy skills for calculating discounts, commissions, and percentages.
• Good judgment and decision‑making abilities.
• Fluent English communication, both written and oral.
